By heating limestone (calcium carbonate) up to a temperature over 900 °C in a vertical kiln, the limestone is transformed into quicklime (calcium oxide) and carbon dioxide.

Quarrying

Limestone is supplied by Nordkalk AB from the neighbouring quarry.
Well-defined and selected rocks will be blasted to provide limestone with the specific chemical and physical characteristics required for the kiln.

Crushing and screening

The limestone is chrushed in two stages and screened to ensure the right stone size before feeding the kiln.

Calcination

The limestone will be calcinated in a Maerz Parallel Flow
Regenerative Lime Kiln. The capacity is 500 tons quick lime per day.
The kiln can be fired with LPG or converted waste oil.

Control

The production of lime is completely computerised.
ISO 9002 and ISO 14001 regulate the production process.
The product quality is controlled by analysis at every stage of processing.

Final processing

The qiucklime will be crushed, screened and stored in silos before shipping.

Transport

All transports are carried out by vessels to terminals on the mainland or directly to customers.
